Well sports fans the good news for all of those true die hard high school football fans is that the official kickoff for the upcoming 2016 Texas High School Football season will once again begin in El Indio, Texas at the famed 23rd Annual Dos Amigos Ranch Football Clinic which kicks-off on Thursday June, 9, 2016 with yet another star studded lineup of clinic speakers who are already booked ready, willing, and able to present their topics as well as share their abundant wealth of knowledge in all aspects of the game of football with all of the clinic goers.

The highly acclaimed 23rd Annual Dos Amigos Ranch Football Clinic continues to grow in numbers every year with some of the true premier high school and college coaches from all four corners of the State of Texas attending this prestigious and most highly organized football clinic.  The 23rd Dos Amigos Ranch Football Clinic continues to be sponsored by the famed cardiologist Dr. Hector Villasenor, MD of the Heart Institute of South Texas.  The clinic co-organizers are Oki Villasenor the current head football coach for the Laredo LBJ Wolves and Eric Villasenor current head football coach for the C.C. Winn Mavericks.

The 23rd Annual Dos Amigos Ranch Football Clinic will kick-off on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. with a 9-Hole Golf Tournament at the City of Eagle Pass, Texas Municipal Golf Course.  At 8:00 P.M. all clinic goers will be treated to a savory BBQ Dinner with all the trimmings prepared by none other than the Dean of South Texas BBQ; Master Chef Coach George Mancha proprietor of the famed Munch BBQ along with his trusty staff the Munch Bunch.

Friday’s Itinerary kicks-off with lunch being served at the Ranch Lodge from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon.  From 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM the highly acclaimed Dr. Bud Curtis of the Sports Medicine Associates of San Antonio will take the podium to introduce “What’s New In Sports Medicine”.  At 1:10 PM Jeff Fleener head football coach at San Antonio Brandeis will take the podium to present his topic “RPO’s & QB RPO’s”.  From 2:10 PM to 3:00 PM Yancey McKnight, head strength coach for the University of Houston Cougars will present his topic “Summer and In-Season Training”.  Ar 3:10 PM to 4:00 PM Darryl Hemphill head football coach at San Antonio Stevens takes the podium to go over “Man to Man techniques and drills”. From 4:10 PM to 5:00 PM former NFL quarterback and the newly hired head football coach at Mission, Texas Koy Detmer will present a session on “Quarterback Play & Drills”.  Bill Fecci of the SFOA will go over “New Rules” in-between the sessions.  At 5:00 PM a BBQ Dinner and refreshments will be served by Coach George Mancha of Munch BBQ along with his staff the Munch Bunch.  DOOR PRIZES will also be handed out Friday during the clinic sessions.

During the Friday night BBQ Dinner clinic goers have the opportunity to sit alongside the Clinic Speakers or with the numerous legendary current and former Texas High School football head coaches in attendance on a one to one basis and get any and all questions or concerns answered on any aspect of the game of football offense, defense, special teams and the all important kicking game.  No other football clinic in the country affords this luxury.

Saturday morning the clinic will conclude at 8:00 AM with a Maverick County style breakfast tacos being served by Munch BBQ before the clinic goers depart back to their respective cities and communities to begin preparations for the upcoming 2016 Texas High School Football season where they can implement some or all of the strategies and knowledge attained at the 23rd Annual Dos Amigos Ranch Football Clinic.

Eagle Pass Sports Central would like to highly commend Dr. Hector Villasenor and co-clinic organizers Oki Villasenor and Eric Villasenor for your respective time, effort and dedication in putting together one of if not the best Texas High School Football Clinics in the entire State of Texas.  This year the 23rd Annual Dos Amigos Clinic is being dedicated in honor of none other than the patriarch of the Villasenor Family the late Oscar Villasenor who recently passed away.  Mr. Oscar Villasenor took great pride in being instrumental in making the Dos Amigos Ranch look and feel like a five-star resort spending countless number of hours toiling at the ranch working in scorching heat during the summer months, bitter cold during the winter months as well as numerous other inclement weather days and nights.  Mr. Oscar Villasenor took great pride in seeing all of his children grow up and become successful in life as well as seeing his own grandchildren excelling both in school and on the athletic fields throughout the State of Texas. After all he himself laid the foundation being one of the true legendary local fast pitch softball players back in the 1950’s who played the game to win and did it with hard work, dedication, pride, dignity and class.  Rest in Peace for all eternity Mr. Oscar Villasenor and thank you for all of your time, effort and dedication that you put forth in making the Dos Amigos Ranch into a truly magnificent, one of a kind and highly acclaimed resort!
