The Eagle Pass Youth Baseball Softball Association Babe Ruth senior league baseball diamond action continued at Moncada’s Baseball Field with a matchup between Eagle Pass Sports Central and Subway on Friday, June 17, 2016 in a game that proved to be quite a nail biting thriller on a fabulous pitching duel between Raul Ramirez and Tony Galvan with both starting hurlers going the distance and each surrendering just one base hit apiece in this game.

Eagle Pass Sports Central the designated home team broke into the scoring column with a lone unearned run in the bottom of the first inning courtesy of three Subway errors.  Juan Garza reached on an infield error, with one out Javy Flores also reached on an error; Mando Lopez reached on a fielder’s choice enabling Juan Garza to tally on the play.

Both teams remained hitless until the top half of the fifth inning when Subway pitcher Tony Galvan led off the frame with an single and later tallied on an RBI ground out off the bat of centerfielder J.J. Garcia to knot up this game at one run apiece.

In the home half of the fifth Eagle Pass Sports Central broke the one all tie with a lone game winning run David Santos reaching o a two out error, short stop and leadoff batter Juan Garza came through with the game’s only hit for Eagle Pass Sports Central a solid fence rattling game winning RBI triple to drive in David Santos all the way in from first to give Eagle Pass Sports Central the thrilling 2 to 1 victory over a valiant Subway team.
