pions. Both the Coyotes and Mavericks will venture into this contest with identical overall season records of 7-2 and identical district marks of 3-1. The Uvalde Coyotes are averaging 31.6 pThe District tri-leading C.C. Winn Mavericks varsity football team under the direction of head football coach Eric Villasenor have their sights focused on taking down the visiting tri-leading Uvalde Coyotes in the 7:00 PM marquee matchup of the year in District 29-5A on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at the Cozel Foster-Veterans Memorial Stadium in Eagle Pass, Texas.
You can certainly expect a jammed packed stadium as the visiting Coyotes always bring a big contingent of supporters and on the home front the entire Mavericks Nation is always present to cheer and support their beloved Mavericks varsity football team. A victory over the Coyotes and a victory by Floresville over the Southside Cardinals will make the Mavericks and Tigers the District 29-5A Co-Chamoins per game while the Mavericks hard hitting and stingy defense is only allowing 16.1 points per game (Best in District 29-5A).
This game is also designated as the 2016 C.C. Winn High School’s Homecoming Game with the coronation of the King and Queen and the Royal Court being announced during the halftime festivities.
The visiting Uvalde Coyotes will feature their talented junior starting quarterback Michael Mata #12 a very accurate passer with a strong arm that has passed for 1750 yards with 9 TD passes this season. He is not a threat to run though but does like to throw the deep pass. Joining Mata in the backfield will be David Rodriguez # 22 who is their leading rusher with 802 yards on 160 carries. Will also used as a wildcat quarterback and will come out of the backfield in their passing game. Also seeing some running back action will be Chris Castillo #24 a small shifty running back who will also split out as a wide receiver.
The Coyotes talented and explosive receiving corps will be comprised by their X receiver Xavier Vasquez #6, Z receiver Josh Sandoval #11, slot back Damien Mendoza #16 by far their favorite and most talented receiver who is quite explosive after the catch and slot back and Christian Flores #4. The Coyotes offensive line that will go toe to toe in the trenches with the Mavericks sensational front seven will be right tackle Ryan Ortiz #79 who is slow off the ball and the weakest linemen, right guard Ralph Hernandez $56 their second smallest lineman, center Christian Chapoy #70 very consistent and aggressive blocker, left guard Jose Martinez #74 their best blocker very quick of the ball, and left tackle Esteban Encina #62.
Defensively the Coyotes will line up in a basic 4-3 scheme and will field a very formidable front line with Noah Smith #1 Chris Castillo #24 and Matthew Williams #55. The Coyotes also have a solid trio of linebackers in Joe Martinez #35, Josiah Carrizalez #44 and Diego Castillo #34, patrolling the secondary will be Efrain Gutierrez #15 and Damien Mendoza #16.
The home standing C.C. Winn Mavericks the Pride of Southern Maverick County will counter with their very potent running game with running backs Danny Rios and Omar Hinojosa more than ready to tote the pigskin to pay dirt along with quarterback Julio Ruiz who returned to the starting lineup last week but it was clear that he obviously was not at 100% but nevertheless did a amicable job running the offense.
The Mavericks formidable receiving corps of the multi-talented and sure handed wide receiver Ruben Esquivel and the equally sure handed Alfonso Cardona and Gilbert Rodriguez along with tight end Jose Rodriguez ready to carry the email to the promise land. The Mavericks big and quick footed offensive line will need to dominate the line of scrimmage to turn the Mavericks running backs loose into the Coyotes secondary.
The Mavericks starting defense features a big and aggressive front seven in the likes o Enrique Garza, Victor Olguin, Jacob Guerra and Carlos Tijerina ho are quite a force in the trenches. Supporting the front line are three very solid and quick pursuing linebackers in the likes of Rolando Sanchez, Alberto Duran and Ernesto Villasenor. The Mavericks secondary unit is comprised by one of the premier secondary units in Region IV with the likes of Rey Vasquez, Alonso Vallejo, Alex De Jesus and standout Rene Auces who will certainly be ready to be tested by the Coyotes aerial attack and look forward to come up with a few turnovers.
