Eagle Pass Eagles head baseball coach has informed Eagle Pass Sports Central that Eagle Pass Eagles varsity senior class teammates Olexis Gutierrez and Jorge Rodriguez have been selected to play in the elite 2016 Texas Select All-Star Showcase game scheduled for June 18, 2016 at Nelson Wolff Stadium in San Antonio, Texas.  The Texas Select Showcase All-star Baseball game gives all of the talented selected players an opportunity to be evaluated by the numerous collegiate coaches and recruiting coordinators in attendance to see if they can earn themselves a chance to continue to play baseball at the next level.

Senior P/1B Jorge Rodriguez was selected to the Texas Select All-Star Showcase after a very successful senior season where he batted .474 a the plate for the mighty Eagle Pass Eagles varsity baseball team and was selected to the all-district first team.  Jorge Rodriguez currently holds a very solid 87 GPA.

Senior OF Olexis Gutierrez just culminated a very successful high school career for the Eagle Pass Eagles where he earned honorable mention honor during his sophomore year, all-district second team during his junior year and all-district first team this season with a hefty .380 batting at the plate this year and holds an 86 GPA.
