Eagle Pass Sports Central is pleased to announce that Eagle Pass power hitting native Tres Barrera son of Felipe and Sylvia G. Barrera currently the junior catcher for the University of Texas Longhorns has just been drafted in the sixth round by the Washington Nationals with the 184th pick in the first year Major League Draft.
The young highly talented Tres Barrera (6’ 1”215lb.) was born and raised in Eagle Pass, Texas where he learned to play the game at the local Elementary and Little League Baseball Fields and later continued his brilliant baseball career first at Hidalgo High School and later at Sharyland High School prior to his standout three year collegiate career at the University of Texas.
