A talented local group of predominately 7^th and 8^th grade boys traveling basketball team known as Beast Mode under the tutelage of head coach Rick Rodriguez has be honing their hoops skills competing in numerous high caliber basketball tournaments throughout the summer mostly in San Antonio, Texas against some top notch basketball teams some of which are comprised by freshmen basketball player and have been having quite a success against older competition where Beast Mode has made it to the champion ship game in several tournaments only to be out scored by only 1, 4, and 6 points respectively by Extreme Heat, Hawks and Kyle Knights.

On Saturday, July 16, 2016, Beast Mode put it all together in a high caliber tournament held at the George Gervin Center coming away with the overall team championship by going undefeated defeating the likes of the Texas Dream, Team Texas-Tru, S.A. Cardinals, S.A, Wolverines, S.A. Dynasty and the New Bruanfels Warriors.  Members of the championship winning Beast Mode squad include Moe Gaytan, Marco Morales, Luis F. Rodriguez, Juan Flores, Joey Aguilar, Marcos Rodriguez, Joey Morales, Marcos Coronado, Abel Garcia, Allan Rodriguez, Kaleb Castillo and Jose Zuniga.

Eagle Pass Sports Central congratulates Beast Mode on their outstanding accomplishment in winning the Summer Hoops Basketball Tournament championship and for representing the City of Eagle Pass, Texas with pride, dignity and class as well as coach Rick Rodriguez for continuing to enhance the lives of the youth of our community and would also like to thank the respective parents of these talented young boys for their devoted support.  Go Beast Mode!

The Beast Mode traveling basketball squad will be winding down their Summer long schedule by competing in the Eagle Pass Parks and Recreation Department Summer Basketball League where they have won their first three game winning their games by the respective scores of 70-8, 83-6 and most recently 40-33 over an elite Del Rio Prime Time team.
