The Eagle Pass Lady Eagles’ varsity girls volleyball team mentored by head coach Izaneli Mancha and assistant coach Larissa Gonzalez journeyed to Laredo, Texas on Saturday, September 10, 2016 to tangle with the powerful Laredo Alexander Lady Bulldogs in a 1:00 PM District 29-6A volleyball matchup.  The predominately youthful Lady Eagles knew well at hand that they were facing quite a formidable foe in the likes of the Lady Bulldogs who are not only one of the elite high school volleyball programs in District 29-6A as well as in Region IV but also in the entire State of Texas.

The young Eagle Pass Lady Eagles did not back down from challenging the talented and more experienced Laredo Alexander Lady Bulldogs playing their hearts out and at times showed the more talented Lady Bulldogs that it won’t be too long before the Lady Eagles program gets back to that level as they gave it their best effort with Lysandra Gonzalez, Miryam Salinas, Giselle Velasquez, Leslie Martinez, Bianca Camarillo, Larrisa Moyeda, Kayla Sepulveda, Paola Rosales and company going toe to toe against the powerful Lady Bulldogs but the home standing Lady Bulldogs managed to take the match in three straight sets by the respective scores of 25-8, 25-12, and 25-9 over the youthful Lady Eagles.
